Visit famous collegiate churches and museums in the region or look forward to the Nockalm Festival or the Millstatt Music Weeks. Collegiate Church & House of Storytelling
A comprehensive overview of the historical development of the town and its cultural assets awaits you in the Millstatt Abbey Museum. The legendary founder of the town of Millstatt was called Domitian - a legend? We don't really know. Read up on it and browse through numerous documents that can be found in the Abbey Museum. Enter the world of legends and myths at the House of Storytelling in Döbriach. Our region is home to a number of original legend locations where you can be enchanted by the legendary creatures. The House of Storytelling organizes fantastically staged guided tours to these locations - truly mystical!

The music weeks
Are you interested in top-class art and cultural events, especially when they take place in the venerable setting of a monastery museum steeped in history? Then the Millstatt Music Weeks are just the thing for you. Our Music Weeks not only showcase masters of interpretation, they also take place in the wonderful ambience of Millstatt Abbey Church, breathing special life into these venerable walls. Every year in spring and summer, art and culture fans from all over the world are delighted when sacred and secular choral and orchestral works as well as important chamber music works from all eras of music history are performed. You should definitely not miss it!
The Nockalm Festival
The widely known and popular Nockalm Festival, which takes place in Millstatt in September, is a little more rustic, but no less festive. When the Nockalm quintet invites fans to their annual rendezvous in Millstatt, the region goes wild. Numerous summer evenings take place on the lake from June to September 2017. The lake promenade in Millstatt is transformed into a culinary and festive party mile. At lovingly designed market stalls, you can sample the best and tastiest regional products, while live music and great bands ensure an exuberant late summer atmosphere among guests at Lake Millstatt. The weekly market in Döbriach offers a very similar experience and can be visited every Tuesday from May to September in the village of Döbriach.
